Thinking Man (b)

Graphite on rough paper · 8 × 11 inches

In this variation of “Thinking Man,” the thinker dissolves into rhythm. The seated body curves into looping arcs, simplified and elongated, as though thought itself reshapes anatomy.

Minimal shading shifts focus from mass to movement. Overlapping lines remain visible, preserving the immediacy of inquiry. The figure seems less carved than sketched into becoming.

The surrounding space breathes openly, heightening solitude. Rather than monumental stillness, this thinker vibrates quietly—contemplation rendered as motion held within restraint.
