Inspired by the existential reading of the myth, “Sisyphus” portrays ascent as conscious defiance. The elongated figure lunges diagonally upward across fractured terrain, burden fused to his back as if inseparable from his being.

Sweeping brushstrokes splinter the space, denying stability or rest. Muscles strain; balance remains precarious. There is no summit—only the act of climbing.

The searing palette of golds, ambers, and black intensifies the struggle rather than illuminating a path. Suspended in perpetual ascent, the figure becomes the “absurd hero,” aware of futility yet committed to motion. Here, dignity lies not in victory, but in the deliberate choice to continue.
